The Lee Min Ho Effect

The man that brought Gu Jun Pyo to life has finally chosen his next project. After waiting for almost a year to act again, on January 11th Lee Min Ho’s management company announced that he accepted the lead role in the drama Personal Taste for MBC. It’s a drama based on a popular novel that had been rumored would come out a while ago, but then was shelved (it was rumored in October of 2008 that Yoon Eun Hye and Joo Ji Hoon would reunite for this drama but it never happened).

The story follows Jeon Jin Ho who passes himself off as a homosexual so that he can get closer to the female lead (who is yet to be cast) because she’ll only have homosexuals as roommates. Apparently it’s pretty easy for Jin Ho to pass himself off as a homosexual because he’s slightly OCD, is a neat freak, and enjoys organizing and ironing? The drama is planning to start filming in late February and be broadcast in early April.

So what’s the big deal and the Lee Min Ho Effect? Even though the announcement was just made, major bookstores in Korea have seen a huge surge in sales of the novel. The demand is so great that finding a copy will soon be a scarcity. It’s only been 2 days, sheesh- Min Ho apparently has still got it. It just goes to show the popularity of Boys Over Flowers. I hope they start reprinting the novel if need be. Be sure to check out the drama when it comes out in April. Hope fully, it will be better than some of the other actors from BOF’s follow up efforts. *cough* Dream *cough*

Cast of ‘You’re Beautiful’ appeared at C.N.Blue’s debut showcase

Jung Yong Hwa (Starring in the Korean TV drama ‘You’re beautiful’) together with his band C.N. Blue held their debut showcase in Gangnam, Seoul today (14 Jan) in the afternoon. They performed their debut song for their fans.

Cast of ‘You’re Beautiful’ - Jang Geun Suk, Lee Hong Ki, Park Shin Hye came and gave Jung Yong Hwa their very own support.

Korean actor Park Yong Ha and the Secretary of Korea Cheong Wa Dae (who has the same name as Yong Jung Hwa) also came and attended C.N. Blue’s showcase.

看好台灣知名偶像團體「飛輪海」與韓國連續劇新生代女星具惠善的高人氣，觀光局特地找他們合作拍攝音樂錄影帶MV，希望將台灣美景、好吃食物介紹給外國朋友，吸引更多日本及韓國35歲以下的女性到台灣旅遊。

To cultivate their understanding, FRH teach KHS how to make Taiwanese spring rolls, and KHS also adds in her creativity, and wrapped kimchi inside spring rolls. KHS smiled and said that everyone is unique and is very kind, but she felt FRH are more humorous, and since she came to Taiwan, of course she would answer that FRH are more handsome. These 2 days the weather in Taiwan was very cold with the temperature dropped to below 10 degrees Celsius. but KHS said that as compared to the minus 10 degree in Korea, the weather in Taiwan is just like Spring, and she hoped that she would have more opportunities to travel around Taiwan in future.

Jang Geun Suk akan mengadakan fan meeting

Jang Geun Suk akan mengadakan fans meeting di Korea pada tgl 31 januari ini. Dan diberitakan juga, banyak fans dari seluruh Asia yang akan ikut gabung untuk menghadiri fans meeting. Ini adalah hal yg mengejutkan, karena sebelumnya JGS tidak pernah melakukan kunjungan dan kegiatan di negara2 seperti China, Hong Kong, dan Taiwan sebelumnya.
Mengenai fanmeeting ini, menagement JGS berkomentar "ada banyak surat dan hadiah yang datangnya dari para fans untuk JGS. Dia lalu membuka dan membacanya di sela2 waktu istirahatnya. diantaranya ada yg menulis menggunakan bahasa korea dan selebihnya tidak. Oleh karena itu, JGS termotivasi untuk mempelajari bahasa baru selain bahasa Korea dan saat ini dia sedang belajar".
"Banyak fans yang request untuk dapat berpartisipasi di fanmeeting, Untuk mengakomodasi seluruh fans yang ada, kita merubah beberapa tempat fanmeeting beberapa kali. JGS sendiri sangat antusias dan berkerja lebih ekstra lagi untuk mempersiapkan fanmeeting nanti.

Korea Travel Diary Gallery Cafe Manolin (Winter 2009)

On the afternoon of Christmas Eve (December 24), Gongjunim and her 2 friends went to Seorae Maeul (서래마을) in Banpo-dong in search of Goo Hye Sun's first Gallery Cafe Manolin. The weather was freezing cold but it didn't stopped my enthusiasm. Finally, we saw Gallery Cafe Manolin from not far away. It gave me a heart warming feel at the first impression.

Slowly, we moved on to the gallery located at first floor. As I opened the door in, the song playing from the gallery's main sound system was "골목을 돌면" (Around The Alley) which is kept in Hye Sun's first new age music album Breathe. Viewing the gallery along with Hye Sun's music piece was truly a heart fulfilment. One by one, I viewed all the art pieces exhibited in the gallery. The raw power of art illustration by those talented artists have amazed me.

My friends moved on to the cafe located at second floor. As I was taking photographs, I followed up behind next. When I entered the cafe, I was greeted by Hye Sun's brother-in-law. I feel an instant homely feel when I stepped in. There was a phootshoot going on inside the cafe on that day (I am unsure who is the male model). My friend chose the seats on a cosy spot beside the windows. The menu was in full Korean (forgot to take a picture). After looking through the menu, I ordered the assorted pancakes for my friends and green tea latte. While waiting for our orders, I was idling around my seat and almost fell asleep as it was too comfortable~! Soon, the cafe staff came with our food and my beverage. The pancakes were superb and the green tea latte has a heavenly aroma and taste~! ^^ Though the price of the pancakes was slightly steep (W15000), it is definitely worth the price~! <3 href="http://tinypic.com/" target="_blank">

My friends and I sat and chatted at our seats for some time. And I saw 2 Korean ladies coming in and they sat opposite of us. My friend decided to go to the toilet. And when she came back, she told me the cafe toilet decor was really beautiful. So I went to check out the cafe toilet with my camera. ^^ The toilet was spacious and well-maintained with beautiful tissue box and wall stickers. On my left side, I saw Hye Sun's art work laid well on the floor. Then, I began to selca inside the toilet. Haha. ^^

After some time, I called for the bill and went to the reception. The lady talked to me in Korean with smiles. And I saw a set of really cute Christmas decors displayed at their cashier register. So I decided to ask if they were for sale. Sadly, they weren't. ㅠㅠ Before leaving, I went on taking some photos of the interior and exterior of the cafe.

Thinking back now, the most funniest and memorable incident which happened to me was that I almost left my neck scarf inside the cafe~! I ran back the cafe and with the help of the cafe staff, I found it under my chair. I recalled Hye Sun's brother-in-law looking at me with full amusement. Haha.
