Kim Bum sued by Eyagi Entertainment

Kim Bum’s former management Eyagi Entertainment is suing Kim Bum for 500 million won for violation of contract.

Eyagi said that Kim Bum signed a 6 year exclusive contract from October 2008, and received 150 million won as an initial payment. Even though Kim Bum starred in the drama “Boys Over Flowers” and various CFs, he stopped contact with the management after March of this year and moved over to King Kong Entertainment. Kim Bum signed an exclusive contract with King Kong Entertainment in July 2007, but because of deteriorating business, the company merged with Eyagi Entertainment last October, and the exclusive contract was transferred over to Eyagi. Eyagi claimed that from March to July of last year, Kim Bum made at least 790 million won with the CF deals.

Regarding this issue, King Kong Entertainment’s representative Lee Jin Seong expressed, “Kim Bum does not have an exclusive contract with Eyagi, and the 150 million won was not an exclusive contract payment. When Eyagi and King Kong merged last October, Eyagi did not follow through with the agreements, so inevitably he had to leave that company. We will follow through with our own legal counteraction.”
